If one were to somehow define the renaissance woman of photography art, it could very well be the international artist, Lucia Griggi. With her father from Venice, Italy and her mother from London, England, Lucia's life seemed destined to travel the world and understand it as a photographer.
It has been a fascinating life for Lucia Griggi, as she embraces the quintessential photography artist's curiosity of traveling to some of the most alluring countries, cultures and confines. Her journey to view the world through her lens takes her as far north to Alaska, as far south as South Africa, west to California and as far east as Sri Lanka. It is in between all of these worldly directions that Lucia focuses on photography both in and out of the water. Lucia has not pegged herself as just a photographer of elevated surfing art, constantly searching for the perfect wave, but rather has been fascinated with the paths that have led her away from the beach. Getting to know and capture the vision of the unknown is now her passion.
The expanse of Lucia's travels to capture the nature and lifestyle of the ocean have led her to over thirty countries covering all five continents which have rendered work for clients, commissions and self–project work. As a self–taught photographer she has engaged her art to work with a multitude of surf companies, airlines and travel.
As someone who regularly follows the surf circuit, she is very forthright about her passion, "All I want to do is see the world and capture it in a way that will encourage others to follow their passions and make their dreams become a reality."
